Dear Parents and Students,
Here is a friendly reminder for our mid-term schedule for Thursday and Friday.
Exam schedule is as follows:

Friday, October 12
Thank you and God bless!
Dear Student, Parents/ Guardians,
We are planning a few UC/CSU college visits this year to provide students with a greater college experience as they decide on their future college plans. Please make sure your son/daughter stop by the Counseling office for more information.
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! We are off to an amazing start with 285 students, 30 faculty and staff members, and a school full of the Spirit. We are blessed beyond belief and we are so thankful to all of you for your dedication, love and support. May God grant us a year full of successes as we work with you in educating our students.
This is the first of many newsletters that will be coming out during the year. Each month you will be sent a newsletter from me keeping you informed of the upcoming events as well as the focus for the month.
As we have said before, this year we are focused on one area: Teamwork! We have a few programs and events that will help with engagement—especially PowerSchool and continued use of our program, Naviance which will help with college counseling and the college process for our students. Every student and parent has a Naviance account and password—if you do not know yours, please stop by the counseling office to pick it up.
In Jesus' Name,
Thank you for all of your hard work and staying up-to-date on your financial obligations. The report for 2016-2017 is completed and you can view below. Thank you again and Go Saints!
Dear Students, Families, and Friends of SCHS,
“Today a light will shine upon us, for the Lord is born for us; and he will be called Wondrous God, Prince of Peace, and Father of future ages: and his reign will be without end.” (Is. 9:1, 5 and Lk. 1:33) With these words the Sacred Liturgy announces the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ on Christmas Day. It is truly a joyous day in which we join Christians all over the world in welcoming into our hearts the King and Ruler of all creation born of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We hope this Christmas finds you and your family in good health and grace.
Celebrating the Nativity of the Lord Jesus gives us the opportunity to once again return to the true spirit and joy of this blessed season. The danger for us is to get too caught up into the commercialized holiday that we forget the heart of what we celebrate. The greatest sin today of our modern culture is the sin of complacency and indifference. Many are satisfied with stripping this holy season of Jesus Christ; we must fight that temptation and bring Christ to the center of our celebrations. You and I must be witnesses of the Lord Jesus, reminding all our neighbors and friends to the great birthday celebration of the Lord. Today, Christmas has become the season of materialism and indulgence. We must make it a season of faith and charity, announcing to the world the great love and mercy of God. Only then can we rediscover true spirit of Christmas.
As you gather with your family and friends, consider the lights of the Christmas tree and those outside your home the hidden symbol of Jesus Christ, the “Light of the World." Allow the light of Christ to penetrate deep into your hearts and souls so that rediscovering your faith, renewing your commitment to Him, and reliving the mysteries we celebrate, you will truly have a Blessed and Merry Christmas.
May the Infant Child Jesus and his most Blessed Mother grant you the joy and peace of this holy season and keep you and your loved ones safe. Wishing you a Blessed Christmas.
With the start of advent almost among us and Thanksgiving coming soon, we would like to wish each and every one of you a season of joy, love, laughter and prayer as we prepare for Thanksgiving and then Christmas. We have many great events planned, including our Thanksgiving feast, Posada, toy drive, and so much more. We hope you are able to attend all of our events!
It was great seeing so many parents attend the Parent-Teacher conferences! Please continue to check Teacherease beginning Monday to get up-to-date access to you student(s)’s grades. If you need a new log-in or password, call the office today for assistance.
Semester Finals are fast approaching and will be held December 14th-16th. Please make sure all financial accounts are up-to-date or students who have accounts in arrears will not be able to take their finals per our handbook. The Monday before finals, we will be giving out passes for students to take with them to class to prove that they can take their exams. If a student loses his or her pass, they will be sent to the office and will need to pay a $10 replacement fee. If you have any questions about your account status, please contact Mrs. Luna at: email@example.com
As we have stated several times this year, Summer school must be completed at Santa Clara High School for any classes where a student fails (D+ and below are also recommended to make-up since colleges will not accept anything below a C-). The information flyer will be sent out soon and will be available in the office. We will allow students to take credit recovery courses or enrichment courses that would normally not fit their schedules. In some cases we will allow students to take courses at Oxnard Community College as an alternative but the student must get approval first.
Re-registration will also begin once we return from Christmas break and the process will remain the same as last year as well as the fee schedule. So you are prepared, the fee schedule is as follows: $300.00 per child if re-registered by February 28, 2017, or… $375.00 per child by March 15, 2017, or… $450.00 per child by June 15, 2017. We will be sending out more information as the time nears.
As a reminder, please save the following dates:
Gospel Meditation for the week:
“. . . a great multitude, which no one could count.”
Heaven is vast! It’s made up, not only of the great saints, but of everyone who lived for the Lord. Let this truth fill you with hope for yourself and for your family—even the ones you worry about the most. No one is excluded. No one is ever too far gone. The Lord is a God of miracles, and that means that anyone can become a saint!
“Thank you, Lord, for your grace and mercy. Help us all to be holy as you are holy!”
