Dear Parents/Guardians,
Thank you for all of those who came and made our Hall of Fame dinner a success! We had a great time and we were blessed to be able to experience such an amazing night with you! With the start of advent almost among us and Thanksgiving this week, we would like to wish each and every one of you a season of joy, love, laughter and prayer as we prepare for Thanksgiving and then Christmas. We have many great events planned, including our Thanksgiving feast, Posada, Installment mass, toy drive, and so much more. We hope you are able to attend all of our events! It was great seeing so many parents attend the Parent-Teacher conferences! Please continue to check Teacherease beginning Monday to get up-to-date access to you student(s)’s grades. If you are interested in helping at the school, please schedule an appointment to meet with me and we would love to have you. If you need a new log-in or password, call the office today for assistance. Semester Finals are fast approaching and will be held December 15th-17th. Please make sure all financial accounts are up-to-date or students who have accounts in arrears will not be able to take their finals per our handbook. The day before finals, we will be giving out passes for students to take with them to class to prove that they can take their exams. If a student loses his or her pass, they will be sent to the office and will need to pay a $10 replacement fee. If you have any questions about your account status, please contact Mrs. Luna at: luna@santaclarahighschool.com As we have stated several times this year, Summer school must be completed at Santa Clara High School for any classes where a student fails (D+ and below since colleges will not accept anything below a C-). The information flyer was sent out and is available in the office. We will allow students to take credit recovery courses or enrichment courses that would normally not fit their schedules. In some cases we will allow students to take courses at Oxnard Community College as an alternative but the student must get approval first. Re-registration will also begin once we return from break and we have changed the process as well as fee schedule. So you are prepared the fee schedule is as follows: $300.00 per child if re-registered by February 28, 2016, or… $375.00 per child by March 15, 2016, or… $450.00 per child by June 15, 2016. We will be sending out more information as the time nears. As a reminder, please save the following dates:
Gospel Meditation for the week: “Jesus, I give you my heart, my mind, my ears, and my eyes. Show me your kingdom. Help me to obey you today, so that I can know the joy of living in your presence.” -Psalm 72:1-2, 7-8, 12-13, 17; Luke 10:21-24 At your baptism, Jesus gave you the Spirit of counsel, wisdom, and understanding. You can begin to see signs of his kingdom if you take the time to ask and seek. Just put in a little time each day and learn how to open your heart to his word and his presence. All you need is a glimpse of his kingdom, and your life will begin to change! One day [Jesus asked his disciples]… “Who do you say I am?” -Luke 9:18 & 20 Life with Christ is an endless hope, without him a hopeless end –Anonymous In Jesus’ Name, Dr. Cori Marasco Principal
