Grade Retreats
Here at Santa Clara, we believe that it is of the upmost importance for our students to be exposed to the different Catholic events and opportunities given here in Southern California. For this reason, every year, all of our students are taken to different locations in order to experience all that our faith has to offer. Attendance for each grade's retreat is mandatory and is a part of our school's graduation requirements.
Freshmen Retreat : Creating Community With Each Other
Santa Clara Freshmen start off their school year with an on-campus retreat that focuses on creating community and friendships amongst our newest Saints! Every retreat is centered around Christ, the Eucharist during Holy Mass, and the spiritual necessities for our students.
Sophomore Retreat: Uniting Ourselves to Christ
Santa Clara Sophomores attend the yearly Los Angeles' Religious Education Youth Day!
Junior Retreat - Immersion Experience
The Santa Clara Immersion Retreat is the spiritual encounter offered to our Santa Clara Juniors. This one-day, off-campus, service opportunity involves immersing our lives as a response into the calling Christ gave us to serve the poor. The service opportunity offered to our Junior varies from year to year.
Senior Retreat
This is a 3 day, 2 night spiritual encounter for Senior students that enables them to grow closer to themselves, others and God. Students are challenged to accept Christ’s love as they learn what it means to be part of a real Christian community and to look how to live as a Catholic in college and beyond.

Christian Service for Life (CS4Life) - November, Los Angeles : As mentioned on their website, LIFEsocal's mission is to "stand shoulder to shoulder with people from all different races and religions who believe that LIFE IS FOR EVERYONE. Together [they] strive to bring a new and vibrant awareness to being pro-LIFE. By hosting large family events, [LIFEsocal rallies] regular people and inspire them to do something positive for LIFE. [Their] approach is pro-LIFE, positive and non-political; [they] invite people to pray, learn facts, support local pro-LIFE organizations of their choice, and do something positive for LIFE." National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) - November, Long Beach / Indianapolis : NCYC is a powerfully unique three-day experience of prayer, community, evangelization, catechesis, service, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers (of high school age) and their adult chaperones. This overnight conference alternates locations between Long Beach and Indianapolis. Santa Clara high school was blessed to have taken over 70 students to the first NCYC at Long Beach!
Los Angeles YouthDay (LA YouthDay) - February/March, Los Angeles : According to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, "Young people from throughout the Archdiocese gather to plan Youth Day. It is a day planned by young people, for young people. Young people will have the opportunity to experience speakers, exhibits, music, liturgy and prayer that invite them deeper into their relationship with Christ. Young people will leave inspired and challenged to live as missionary disciples in their homes, schools, parishes and communities." Franciscan University's Steubenville Youth Conferences - June/July, Nationwide : Franciscan University hosts nation-wide, summer, youth conferences from San Diego all the way to its main campus in Steubenville, Ohio. 2023 was the first year that a group of 9 Saints attended this spiritual and life-changing event in Ohio and we plan on returning in the following years! The location for this summer retreat will depend on availability, funding, and attendance. Events at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels - Los Angeles : Throughout the school year, Campus Ministry is blessed to have been invited to help out and attend different events at the LA cathedral. One of our favorite events to help out at is the Chrism Mass!
