Summer School

Summer school registration for Session I and Session II will be open from
Session 1: June 29th-July 10th
Session 2: July 13th-July 24th
Santa Clara High School offers summer classes for its own students who need to repeat a class or who would like to take an elective or enrichment class that would normally not fit their schedule during the year. Students must remediate any semester grade of F in order to graduate. Students who wish to attend a four-year university must remediate any semester grade of D. The cost is $250 for each semester class. The registration deadline is June 7 for the first and second session. Registration is available online as well as in the front office. SCHS students also have the option of taking the classes at Oxnard Community College (even those who need to repeat a class). For Oxnard Community College the approval of the counselor or the Vice Principal is required. If a student needs to take two classes in any given session, the student must physically come to SCHS for the first class (4 hours) and must take the additional class at home (additional 4 hour commitment every day). If taking more than 1 class in a session, discount of $50 will be given for the 2nd class.
Current Santa Clara Students:
Session I (Corresponds to First Semester), June 29th to July 10th from 8:00am to 12:15pm each day, $250 per class per session.
Session II (Corresponds to Second Semester), July 13th to July 24th from 8:00am to 12:15pm each day, $250 per class per session.
Each three-week session is the equivalent of one semester. Students cannot miss more than one day during each three-week session.

Session II July 13th to July 24th from 8:00am to 12:30pm each day, $250 per class per session. Nonrefundable.
REGISTRATION FEE: WAIVED
SUMMER SCHOOL SESSIONS (HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE FROM OTHER SCHOOLS)
Session I June 29th to July 10th from 8:00am to 12:30pm each day, $300 per class per session.
Session II July 13th to July 24th from 8:00am to 12:15pm each day, $300 per class per session.
REGISTRATION FEE: $50 per class per session
Credit Recovery Courses (Courses a Student has with a grade of D+ or below):
English (grades 9 -11), Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Spanish (levels I, II, III), Mandarin (levels I, II), World History, Geography, US History, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Religion classes may also be remediated and are taught as Independent Study courses.
Elective and Personal Enrichment Courses (Approved and go on transcript):
Art Appreciation, Music Appreciation, Psychology, Sociology, Creative Writing, Reading Skills and Strategies, Writing Skills and Strategies, Financial Literacy, Mathematics of Personal Finance, Physics, and Probability and Statistics.

On-line registration for the first and second sessions of summer school will be available from April 15 to June 7. Final class offerings will be dictated by student enrollment. Courses with low enrollment will be canceled, so be sure to register early. If your student needs to remediate a course that Santa Clara does not offer, please contact a counselor to find out about other remediation options. Any class remediated outside of Santa Clara must be approved by the counselor and the Assistant Principal Ms. Mullen at [email protected]
